When my oldest son, a Marine, left for war and crossed the border from Kuwait into Iraq in March 2003 I started writing my conscience. After two tours that young combat veteran, my first born son, is now permanently disabled suffering from post traumatic stress disorder and his mother is now an ardent peace activist. Today I am active with Veterans for Peace, Military Families Speak Out and on the board of Rural Organizing Project Also, I am CEO of Rogue River Wind, Ltd and the inventor of a low profile wind turbine incorporating a high bandwidth relativistic generator

Letter to the editor re: Philippa Benson

The following letter to the editor was sent to the Coquille Valley Sentinel today in response to Philippa Benson’s personal attacks upon me in last week’s edition. The sender was kind enough to send me a copy and we will see if the paper prints it.

Regarding Philippa Benson’s rant against Mary Geddry, Mary was in Washington, DC, the week her eight year old daughter was bitten. She reported the bite as soon as her daughter told her and they did their best to figure out the exact day it happened. I know this because I was a witness in the case.

Benson says her dog has never bitten anyone but that is not true. Her dog bit me, three times on a service call to her house. Benson knew the dog bit me. I did not report this to the police but I did put it on the service record. I told the district attorney this and they dismissed the charges.

Wes Cragts

There was also a tenant of Mrs Benson present during this service call. The tenant and Mrs Benson were arguing, we heard the argument next door and the tenant left in anger, permanently. This person may have also seen the dog biting Wes Cragts and did reside there when my daughter says she was bitten.

UPDATE A typing error incorrectly listed Wes’ last name — the correct spelling is Craggs.

  1. I wait with baited breath for Ms Philipine Benson to respond, “what say you, Philipine?”

Maybe we could take a collection and get her a medal which states: COQUILLESFRIENDLIEST NEIGHBOR — NOT!

My words to P Benson — Mean People Suck! Try to do something positive for your community, it may actually allow you to be pleasant, for a change, or at least honest.

Your tirades are getting tiresome. Get a life.

Have a great day, Philipine, if you can do that without trying to harm your neighbors, which seems very difficult for you, I know, but maybe, if you tried really, really hard, you could manage it. But perhaps life seems very lonely for you without conflict and threats. Poor ‘ol thang.

Oh, and what about that dog bite thing? Are you going to call Wes Cragts a liar publicly? Has your dog bitten people or not?

You stated the opposite, which is it Philipine?

    We’re waiting.

  2. This woman would not have been encouraged or successful in her crusade against my family or in her self inflicted disgrace were it not for the willing complicity of her ‘friends’. Sad as that is, it is a grim reality of this small community.
