Smith has assured me that he is staying, going to complete his degree and get some mentoring from the new guy. Then in a few years he may be our police chief.

I have a great deal of hope for Coquille with the new Chief.

Officer Bryant is a little badge heavy, but hopefully, if the new chief is as skilled as they say in management philosophies, he will retrain Bryant to be a human and not Robocop.

And I still think Sgt Smith is the bomb. He’s a good guy.

Anyway, Dannels, the incoming chief, is highly educated and has been exposed to different management philosophies. With luck, he can teach his staff more effective ways of handling disagreements and improving public image. Plus, he is in to soccer which is one of my favorite sports.

I do sincerely hope the new Department will be one the citizens work with, not be fearful from.
