Jody McCaffree has a very informative post up at Citizens Against LNG about the faulty NERA LNG Export Study and an update on the South Dunes Power Plant land use application.

There are only two valid reasons to support these types of projects.
    1. You are expecting some personal monetary gain.
    2. Lack of education.

OK, I read the letter from Mayor Oocephalus Wetherell of North Bend. After seven years of Jody trying to educate this fellow with facts, so he and others may choose yes or no LNG factory and power factory, he still does not listen. It’s nice to see that he does not hesitate to offer written support of the citizens in such a matter without asking his constituents their opinion. Where did he get the 180 permanent jobs number to run an automated small power factory three shifts 24/7? Even in thrid world countries it takes one or two people per shift. Maybe Likspittle of Braddock would be a more apprpriate label.

His comments are repetitions of Coos Bay’s manager as well. Neither actually address the specifics of the report/application but are simply emotional pleas using old memes without any empirical support. In comparison read the other comment from the mayor of Saint Andrews, their council obviously took the long term view.
